Fall Haul-Out

Hey all,
It's finally cool enough to get down to business! No more sweating like farm animals while attempting to harness the chaos.

Fall is a great time to assess what isn’t working in your life and fix it. Work is back in full swing, the kids have been back to school for a few weeks now, and your schedule is officially full again. The madness of the holidays is right around the corner. So, what's your organizing goal? Do you have one?

Where are your weak points? If there is a spot in your home that has been hanging over your head since last fall, start by giving yourself a short deadline to make some progress. Then sort, purge, and containerize to your heart's content. The results will be amazing and you can finally cross that project off your massive to-do list.

If your problem is time-related, try to pinpoint where your schedule goes awry and plan to change your process for that particular area. Don’t go for a total life change. Start small and keep it simple for success. Organization is all about keeping a routine, managing your time and scheduling in a smart, realistic way. If you reserve 10 minutes a day for organizing, you will end up saving yourself nine hours a week – searching for keys, permission slips, the match to your favorite brown boots. If you can find what you’re looking for, your long-term happiness and quality of life will improve more than you can believe.

Good luck!
